Day of Cultural Worker of Kyrgyzstan (02/11)

Every year on November 2, cultural workers of Kyrgyzstan celebrate their professional holiday.

Considering the importance and enduring importance of culture in the spiritual life of the people of Kyrgyzstan, and due to the fact that on November 2, 1926, for the first time in the history of the Kyrgyz folk drama, the play by I. Tokobaeva «Kyigyluu Kakei», as well as for the purpose of developing culture and art, this holiday — Cultural Worker's Day — was established by Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic № 318 of July 28, 1995.

«Kyigyluu Kakei» is a dramatic work that meets the requirements of realistic art. This drama is dedicated to the topical and relevant topic of that time — inequality of women in society.

Today in Kyrgyzstan there are about 10 thousand workers in the field of culture and art. There are 19 professional theaters, 68 museums, more than a thousand libraries, dozens of children's music schools, cinemas, cultural and recreation parks, higher and secondary specialized educational institutions that train cultural and artistic personnel, concert organizations and other cultural institutions in the country.

On their professional holiday, all cultural workers receive congratulations and gratitude for their important work, and traditionally many festive cultural events are timed to coincide with this day.
