Day of Workers of the Judicial System of the Kyrgyz Republic (05/03)

Day of Workers of the Judicial System of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kirgh. Kyrgyz Republikasynyn sot systemasy kyzmatkerinin kunu) is celebrated in the country annually on March 5, starting in 2005.

This professional holiday was established by Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic № 387 of May 26, 2004, taking into account the significant contribution of employees of the judicial system to the development of constitutional foundations, to ensuring the rule of law, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of the individual, as well as to increase the authority and effectiveness of courts in Kyrgyz Republic.

Kyrgyzstan's judicial system traces its origins to the judicial system established in the Soviet state.

Judicial power is exercised through constitutional, civil, criminal, administrative and other forms of legal proceedings.

The judicial system of the Kyrgyz Republic is established by the Constitution and laws and consists of the Supreme Court, courts of appeal of second instance at the regional level and local courts of first instance. The constitutional law may establish specialized courts. The creation of emergency courts is not allowed.
