On April 27, 1941, the Liberation Front of the Slovenian People against the fascist occupiers was created in Ljubljana.

These were Boris Kidrich, Boris Sicherl, Ales Bebler (for the CP), Josip Rus (for Sokolov), Tony Fayfar (for the Christian Socialists), Ferdo Kozak, Franz Sturm and Josip Vidmar (Slovenian cultural figures). The organization was originally called «Anti-Imperialist Front».

Slovenia was completely liberated by the People's Liberation Army of Yugoslavia by May 15, 1945.
