Hvarna holiday (07/10)

On October 7, when the Sun enters the 15th degree of the constellation Libra, Zoroastrians celebrate the holiday of Hvarna.

Hvarna — is divine grace, marking. Its bearer must fulfill the mission — of some divine destiny assigned to him. Zoroastrians have developed in detail a system of signs of the presence of Hvarna: by bodily characteristics, by the moment of birth.

Hvarna symbolizes freedom of choice, which is sacred among Zoroastrians. But a person bears full responsibility for any choice.

On this day they watch the sky especially carefully and try to catch signs of fate. It is believed that if a person passes under a rainbow on this day, he will receive Hvarna.

The holiday is also associated with humor and surprises, so on this day they joke and show tricks. They also eat a variety of sweets, bake flatbreads and bread.

8 lights are lit.
