Bob Marley (1945—1981) — Jamaican musician, guitarist, vocalist and composer. Bob Marley was born into a poor family in a rural area of Jamaica and died of cancer in Miami at the age of 36.

Despite the fact that more than forty years have passed since his death, he is still recognized today as the most famous reggae artist. It was due to his international success that reggae gained widespread popularity outside of Jamaica.

Marley is ranked 11th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 50 best artists of all time.
