Day of non-standard-minded people (09/03)

March 9 is the Day of Non-Standard Thinking People.

People who go beyond standard or formulaic thinking were often perceived ambiguously in history during their lifetime, to put it mildly. Often they were not taken seriously, criticized, and called eccentrics. However, it was attempts to go beyond standard thinking and find confirmation of their hypotheses that most often brought humanity the most high-profile and significant scientific discoveries: in the field of geography, in physics and chemistry, space exploration, etc.

Jokingly, many say that a significant proportion of discoveries and inventions were made by adventurers or lazy people, when some sought to direct their irrepressible energy into space, while others found a way to make their lives easier... Such statements should not be taken literally, although partly they contain the truth.

One way or another, someone came up with a wheel, and someone came up with a – bicycle. Some invented the bow and arrow, and others the plow. Writers in their fantasies and imagination discovered outer space, and the heroes of their works roamed it on spaceships, studied the ocean on submarines when there were no such devices yet.

There are many examples of non-standard-thinking people whose names have forever gone down in history. Suffice it to recall Archimedes, Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein, Nicolaus Copernicus, Giordano Bruno, Galileo Galilei, Christopher Columbus, Fernand Magellan, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Alexander Suvorov, Fyodor Ushakov, Napoleon, Voltaire, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Nikola Tesla and many others. This list of names can be continued for a long time, successfully discovering that non-standard-minded people manifested themselves in completely different areas: music, military affairs, various fields of scientific knowledge, business, painting and literature, philosophy. Each of them brought something new to these areas, going beyond the usual framework and rules, and gave impetus to the further development of science and technology, artistic culture, music, etc.

The initiators of the celebration of the Day of Non-Standard Thinking People invite everyone to try to perform any of the simplest actions on this day in an unusual or unusual way, to refuse to strictly follow the daily routine, adding some variety to it: prepare a well-known dish for breakfast, lunch or dinner, making it in a different way or making changes to the composition, use your left hand, fastening your jacket (for right-handed people), etc.

The desire for non-standard thinking is based on a broad outlook, so an excellent way to develop such a quality in yourself would be reading, drawing, observing and imagining. Please note that a road that is well known to you, along which you often walk or drive and imagined on one of your sections, will be perceived completely differently if you walk (or drive) along it in the opposite direction. You just have to turn around and understand how perception changes. But most often we remember any place precisely in perception from one angle. Try composing a fairy tale for your child or telling it to him in the evening. Let it not build on existing and predictable options. If the child is surprised – you managed to go beyond standard thinking!
