Rodogoszcz (Tausen) (07/10)

The Slavs celebrated the great holiday — Rodogoshch (Tausen) — when the harvest was harvested, the autumn sun — Svetovit — no longer bakes, the trees are preparing for winter sleep, throwing off their beautiful outfits.

For this day they baked a huge honey cake, for which after the beginning the priest hid and asked: «Do you see me?».

If those gathered answered in the affirmative, the priest said a wish: next year, harvest a more abundant harvest and bake an even larger pie.

After the initiative, at which fortune telling for the next year and a spell over a bowl of sacred wine were mandatory, the feast began with Mount —, the food on the table was placed in a slide, which by the end of the feast was greatly reduced.

On this day, a fairy tale about a hero and an underground kingdom was played out, designed to remind of the fading Sun and the coming Winter. Before nightfall, they lit a fire and jumped over it, clearing themselves. The priests walked barefoot on the hot coals, chanting: «Yazhe, Yazhe, trampling!».

To avoid burns, the priests injected themselves with uniform blows into the tambourine into a special trance state.

The holiday ended with crowded games.
